Hearts held to 13th draw in All Blacks Stalemate

Hearts of Oak battled from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Swedru All Blacks at the Accra Sports Stadium, marking their 13th league draw of the season.

The Phobians, desperate for a first home win after four consecutive goalless draws, endured a torrid start as the visitors raced into a two-goal lead before the break.

Rudolf Mensah opened the scoring with his eighth league goal of the campaign, before William Danquah capitalized on a costly error by goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi to double the advantage for All Blacks.

Head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani responded with tactical changes at halftime, and Hearts emerged with renewed urgency in the second half.

After missing several chances to reduce the deficit, the breakthrough finally arrived when Mawuli Wayo acrobatically converted from a corner following a goalmouth scramble to grab his fifth of the season.

Hearts of Oak continued to press and were rewarded with 15 minutes remaining when substitute Frank Abora Duku punished a defensive lapse from Frank Awere to bring the hosts level.

The 21-time Ghana Premier League champions pushed for a late winner with a series of promising attacks but proved elusive as All Blacks walked happy with 1 point.

Despite the spirited comeback, the result extends Hearts’ winless run to five matches (four draws, one defeat), and also drawing in all of the last five matches at home.

They remain fourth in the league standings but missed the chance to close the gap on Bibiani GoldStars, who slipped to defeat against Karela United. Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko also dropped points in a goalless draw with Aduana FC, keeping the race for the top spots tightly contested.
