Accra Hearts of Oak has officially broken its silence regarding the future of striker Hamza Issah, confirming that the player remains under a valid contract despite widespread reports linking him to South African side Siwelele FC.
In a statement released on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Phobians clarified that no football governing body including the Ghana Football Association (GFA) or FIFA has terminated the player’s existing deal.
Disputes Over Financial Obligations
The club addressed rumors regarding unpaid wages, strongly denying claims that they failed to meet their financial commitments to the striker. According to the statement:
1. Hearts management met with Issah’s representatives on two separate occasions.
2. The club acted in “good faith” to resolve all internal concerns.
3. The club criticized the player’s representatives for leaking private discussions, calling the move unprofessional and misleading.

Allegations of “Tapping Up”
Hearts of Oak has taken a firm legal stand against Siwelele FC and the agency ProSports International. The club alleges that the South African side bypassed official channels to contact, invite, and arrange travel for the player without permission.
“This is a clear breach of FIFA regulations regarding player contracts,” the club stated.

Consequently, Hearts of Oak has filed official complaints with FIFA to protect its interests and uphold international transfer rules.
Current Performance and Media Reports.
While media outlets, including Kessben Sports, previously reported that Issah was scheduled to fly to South Africa last Sunday to finalize a move, Hearts of Oak has urged fans and the general public to ignore these claims.
