Hohoe United capture Stephen Diyou

Hohoe United have announced the signing of former Nsoatreman FC winger Stephen Diyou on a permanent deal as the club intensifies efforts to secure its Ghana Premier League status.

Diyou joins the Volta-based side following the disbandment of Nsoatreman FC last year, a situation that left the winger without competitive football for several months.

Despite his period of inactivity, the Diyou is regarded as a proven top-flight performer whose pace, direct running and experience could add much-needed attacking thrust to Hohoe United’s squad.

The move comes at a critical time for Hohoe United, who are currently hovering just one place above the relegation zone heading into the second round of the league season.

Diyou’s arrival could be viewed as a strategic reinforcement aimed at injecting quality and urgency into the team as they battle to pull clear of danger.

Diyou previously impressed at Nsoatreman FC with his work rate and ability to stretch defenses from the flanks, attributes Hohoe United will hope translate quickly as the fight for survival intensifies. With the margins at the bottom of the table extremely tight, the winger is expected to play a key role in the club’s push to climb away from the relegation places.

Hohoe United are expected to continue fine-tuning their squad in the coming weeks as they prepare for a crucial second half of the Ghana Premier League campaign.
