Jordan Ayew on Target but Leicester’s Winless Run Continues
Leicester City’s struggles in the Championship continued on Tuesday night as they were held to a 1–1 draw by Middlesbrough at the King Power Stadium, despite Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew finding the back of the net once again.
Ayew, who has been one of the few bright sparks in the Foxes’ recent poor run, gave his side the lead from the penalty spot deep into first-half stoppage time. His calm finish marked his second goal of the season, lifting hopes that Leicester would finally return to winning ways after a difficult spell.
The Foxes looked in control for much of the game and were handed a further advantage late on when Middlesbrough were reduced to ten men.
However, in a dramatic twist, Luke Ayling struck in stoppage time to snatch a point for the visitors and stun the home crowd.
The result means Leicester are now without a win in their last five Championship matches, recording two draws and three defeats during that period. Even more worrying for Martì Cifuentes’ men, they have managed just one victory in their last ten league games (1 win, 6 draws, 3 losses)—a run that threatens to derail their promotion ambitions.
With pressure mounting and their early-season momentum fading, Leicester must quickly rediscover their winning touch if they are to keep their hopes of an immediate return to the Premier League alive.
