His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has officially appointed a new Board of Directors to steer the affairs of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

The appointment was confirmed in a formal statement signed by the Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, Mr. Kofi Badu. The newly constituted Board is tasked with providing strategic oversight and direction for the club.

Mr. James Osei Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Joshob Construction, has been named as the new Board Chairman. Supporting him in this role is Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori, Chief Executive Officer of Rocksure, who will serve as the Vice Chairman.

The Board also includes Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Rigworld Group.

According to the Palace statement, the new Board is expected to immediately take up its duties concerning the governance of the club. In the meantime, the current Interim Management Committee (IMC) will remain in place to manage the day-to-day operations of the club. The IMC will continue in this capacity until the conclusion of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season.

To ensure a smooth handover, a meeting was held at Manhyia Palace where the incoming Board was formally introduced to the members of the IMC. Mr. Kofi Badu, who presided over the gathering, encouraged both parties to work together in a spirit of unity to ensure a seamless transition.

Addressing the meeting, the incoming Board Chairman, Mr. James Osei Brown, gave his assurance to the supporters and stakeholders of the club. He stated the Board’s commitment to working hard to return Asante Kotoko to its rightful place of excellence. He also urged the current management team to continue working hard in the remaining weeks of the season.

In response, the Chairman of the Interim Management Committee, Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah, welcomed the new leadership and pledged the full cooperation of his team during this transitional period.

The restructuring of the leadership is seen as a move to strengthen the club’s governance and improve long-term planning, as Asante Kotoko continues its campaign in the Ghana Premier League.
