Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao are set to step into the ring together once again. The two boxing legends have agreed to a rematch, which will take place this September in Las Vegas.

The fight is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at the Sphere. It comes 11 years after their first meeting, which was one of the most highly anticipated fights in boxing history.

Mayweather, now 48, is coming out of retirement to make his return to professional boxing. He was the winner of the first fight back on May 2, 2015, taking the victory by unanimous decision in what was called the ‘Fight of the Century.’ That win moved his record to 48-0. He later went on to win two more fights, retiring with a perfect 50-0 record after beating Andre Berto and Conor McGregor.

Since retiring, Mayweather has taken part in several exhibition matches. He has faced fighters such as Logan Paul, Aaron Chalmers, and John Gotti III. His most recent exhibition was against Gotti in August 2024.

Pacquiao, 47, has also been active. He has fought eight times as a professional since losing to Mayweather in 2015. His record now stands at 62 wins, 8 losses, and 3 draws. Pacquiao came out of retirement in July 2025 to fight Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. That fight ended in a majority draw, meaning Barrios kept his belt.

Both fighters made statements about the upcoming rematch.

“I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result,” Mayweather said.

Pacquiao expressed confidence that the outcome will be different this time. “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” he said. “The fans have waited long enough, they deserve this rematch.”

He added a warning for his rival. “I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record, and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.”

The fight will mark the second meeting between the two icons. Their first bout was delayed for years before finally happening in 2015. Now, a decade later, they are set to renew their rivalry. The September event will be streamed live globally on Netflix.
