“Our pressing yielded positive outcomes” – Didi Dramani reacts after Hearts edge Samartex
Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has lauded his side’s pressing game following their narrow 1-0 victory over FC Samartex 1996 in their Matchday 16 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians secured all three points at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, with Hamza Issah’s first-half strike proving decisive. The goal marked Issah’s fourth league goal of the campaign and capped a disciplined performance from the home side.
Speaking after the game, Didi Dramani was quick to downplay individual praise, instead highlighting the collective effort and tactical discipline of his team, particularly their pressing.
We respect the abilities of our opponents, but at the same time you also have to make use of your strengths in terms of our pressing. Our pressing yielded positive outcomes,” he said.
Hearts were made to work hard for the win, especially in the second half, and Dramani reserved special praise for goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi, who delivered a standout performance to preserve the clean sheet.
“That’s why he (Agbasi) is there. He’s supposed to step up when the outfield players don’t take responsibilities. He stood out 100 percent,” the Hearts tactician added.
Agbasi has been in outstanding form since taking over from the injured Benjamin Asare, cementing his place between the posts with a string of impressive displays. In his last seven appearances, the goalkeeper has kept an astonishing six clean sheets, conceding just two goals in that period.
The hard-fought win sees Hearts of Oak continue to build momentum as they climb to second on the Premier League table.
