“Our Target Is to Finish in the Top 4” – Coach Evans Adotey
Head coach of Basake Holy Stars, Evans Augustine Adotey, has expressed disappointment over his team’s poor start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season despite targeting a top 4 finish before the start of the season.
Holy Stars have endured a difficult campaign so far, failing to win any of their six matches and, more worryingly, yet to find the back of the net. Their struggles have left them rooted to the bottom of the 18-club league table, a far cry from their preseason aspirations.
“Our target is to finish in the top four, but now look at where we are, bottom of the league,” Coach Adotey lamented.
One major setback for Holy Stars this season has been the lack of home advantage. Due to renovation works at their home ground, the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park (CAM Park), the team has played all six matches away from home, a challenge Adotey believes has significantly affected their rhythm and results.
“Returning home will be a huge boost for us,” he noted. “We’ve missed the support of our fans and the comfort of our home pitch. Playing again at CAM Park will inspire the boys to give their best as we aim to climb up the table and hopefully finish in the top four.”
Basake Holy Stars will play their first home game of the season this Sunday against Hearts of Oak, hoping the return to familiar surroundings will mark the beginning of a resurgence in their campaign.
