The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have launched a nationwide initiative aimed at addressing violence in football.

This decision which comes after the death of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong AKA Nana Pooley was made during the meeting between Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare and key figures in the football industry.
To ensure smooth implementation, the GFA will meet with the Premier League clubs to finalize strategies.

In a bid to reinforce long-term security measures, aspects of crowd management and stadium safety will now be incorporated into police training programs. This will equip officers with the skills needed to handle potential threats and maintain order during sporting events.

This initiative marks a proactive step in safeguarding the integrity of football in Ghana, promoting a more secure and enjoyable experience for all involved.
