Ghana’s national cycling event, the Tour du Ghana, is set for a spectacular conclusion this weekend, with His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama confirmed as the Official Guest of Honour for the grand finale.
The announcement adds prestige to the fiercely contested cycling event which kicked off today with a challenging 80 kilometre stage from Ho to Fume in the Volta Region.
The opening stage saw an impressive display of athleticism from 58 elite cyclists, with the first stage victory claimed by Team Obroni rider Bastian Dietl
The President is scheduled to attend the final day’s events on Sunday, 23rd November 2025. His presence underscores the government’s commitment to promoting sports development, sports tourism, culture through the Black Star experience.



President Mahama will address the Cyclists, event stakeholders, and key sponsors whose support has been instrumental in bringing the tour du Ghana live.
The opening stage provided a thrilling glimpse of the competition to come.
The peloton went through the beautiful landscape of the Ho, with Bastian Dietl from team Obroni emerging winner after a tough race.

His presence not only honours the cyclists’ extraordinary efforts but also shines a national spotlight on the potential of cycling as a major sport in our country.”
