FIFA has officially launched the path to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ with a major celebration in Copacabana, marking the historic first time the tournament will be held in South America.
The star-studded event unveiled the official look and feel for the upcoming global tournament. This included the tournament emblem, the slogan “GO EPIC™,” and a unique sonic identity inspired by Brazil’s vibrant music.
“Brazil lives and breathes football, and you can feel the excitement here about welcoming the world and hosting a historic event,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “This country is fully committed to making this a key moment for the women’s game.”

The heart of the new brand is an emblem inspired by the Brazilian flag and the lines of a football pitch. Its design cleverly combines the letters “W” and “M,” standing for “Women’s World” and their Portuguese equivalents, symbolizing movement and skill.
The “GO EPIC™” slogan invites fans worldwide to join an unforgettable football adventure. The event also introduced a special Sonic ID, a musical theme built on Brazilian rhythms like samba to bring the energy of the tournament to life through sound.
Football legends from both the men’s and women’s games came together for the launch, showing unity for the sport’s future. In a video, Brazilian icon Marta shared her pride.

“Football is about love and Brazil loves football,” she said. “This tournament will create unforgettable stories and inspire girls and boys everywhere, making our love for the game grow even stronger.”
Before the main ceremony, the famous Avenida Atlântica along Copacabana beach was turned into a living art show. Local artists painted the streets, continuing a beloved Brazilian tradition of decorating the city for the World Cup.
