Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus has provided a significant update regarding the fitness of star forward Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing that the player’s injury is more severe than the club initially anticipated.
Speaking to the media following the team’s latest training session, Jesus explained that medical staff had conducted further assessments on the Portuguese international.
The results of these tests painted a clearer, yet more concerning, picture of the issue.
“After the tests, we see the injury suffered by Cristiano Ronaldo was more serious than expected,” Jesus stated.
The manager confirmed that Ronaldo will not remain with the squad during this recovery phase. Instead, the forward is set to travel to Spain to oversee his rehabilitation with his personal medical team.
“Cristiano will now travel to Spain, like other players who went for treatment when they were injured,” Jesus explained. “His injury required treatment in Madrid with his personal therapist.”

This decision allows Ronaldo to work with specialists who are deeply familiar with his physical history and recovery protocols. The club has given its full support for this plan, prioritizing the long-term health of the player over a rushed return.
While Jesus did not provide a specific timeline for the player’s return to the pitch, he expressed a strong hope that the recovery process will be efficient. The team is eager to welcome their captain back to full fitness as soon as possible.
“We hope he returns quickly and helps the team,” Jesus added, underlining the importance of Ronaldo to Al-Hilal’s ambitions for the remainder of the season.
The club is expected to monitor Ronaldo’s progress closely as he undergoes treatment abroad.
