The 2026 Men’s Hockey Tournament: What You Need to Know
The men’s ice hockey tournament is scheduled for February 11-22, 2026, and will feature a 12-team format.
Tournament Structure:
All 12 teams will play three preliminary-round games within their assigned groups.Following the preliminaries, all teams will advance to a single-elimination knockout playoff, ensuring every game carries high stakes and culminating in the gold medal game on February 22.

Key Preliminary Round Matchups:
Tournament Opener: The action begins on Feb. 11 with Slovakia vs. Finland, followed by Sweden vs. host nation Italy.
Team USA: In Group C, the Americans start their gold medal quest on Feb. 12 against Latvia. They will then face Denmark on Feb. 14 and Germany on Feb. 15.
