“These coaches here will take me to the next level” – Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo has opened up on his decision to join Manchester City, revealing that the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola and his highly regarded coaching staff was the decisive factor in choosing the Etihad Stadium over other interested clubs.

The Ghanaian forward admitted that City’s reputation for developing players convinced him the move was the right step in his career.

“I realised, you know what? This is the place I’m meant to be at.

These are coaches who are going to take me to the next level. So yeah, I’m just grateful to be here,” Semenyo told CBS Sports.

So far, that decision appears to be paying off. Semenyo has enjoyed a blistering start to life at Manchester City, scoring four goals in his first five appearances for the club.

His exploits place him in exclusive company. He is only the second player since the 1992/93 season to score four goals in his opening five games for City, matching a feat previously achieved by Emmanuel Adebayor following his move from Arsenal.
