Dreams FC head coach, Karim Zito, believes that Ghana’s fixation on achieving immediate results is a key factor behind the Black Stars’ recent struggles.

Zito explained that the relentless pressure to secure quick success undermines long-term growth and development in Ghanaian football.

We focus too much on instant results, but true success comes only after laying solid foundations, he emphasized in an interview with Graphic Sports.

He also highlighted the importance of establishing a structured football development system, similar to those in European countries, where national teams have a clear progression framework that allows young players to smoothly transition into the senior squad.

Zito referenced Coach Sellas Tetteh’s Black Satellites, who won the 2009 U-20 FIFA World Cup and later formed the core of the Black Stars squad that finished runners-up in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.

Zito urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to focus on creating a well-defined succession plan to ensure a continuous flow of talent, ultimately restoring the country’s footballing prominence.
