The Achimota Cricket Grounds are gearing up to welcome teams and fans for a week-long cricket tournament. From March 22nd to March 30th, the venue will host the World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifiers, bringing together countries from across the continent.
The event officially begins on Sunday, March 22nd, as the participating teams begin to arrive in Ghana. They will have a full day on Monday, March 23rd, to prepare. The schedule includes practice sessions, a captains’ shoot for photographs, and an important team briefing to go over the rules and match procedures.
The competition gets underway on Tuesday, March 24th, with Matchday 1. The morning game at 9:30 AM will see Tanzania face Malawi. In the afternoon, starting at 1:50 PM, there will be two matches back-to-back: Eswatini will play against St. Helena, followed by Ghana taking on Seychelles.
Action continues on Wednesday, March 25th, for Matchday 2. In the morning, St. Helena will compete against Seychelles. The afternoon session features Eswatini versus Tanzania, and then Malawi will go up against Ghana to close out the day.

Thursday, March 26th, is a rest day for all teams, giving players time to recover and prepare for the second half of the tournament.
The competition resumes on Friday, March 27th, for Matchday 3. The morning game is between Ghana and St. Helena. The afternoon matches will see Malawi play Eswatini, followed by Seychelles taking on Tanzania.
Saturday, March 28th, is Matchday 4. The day starts with Tanzania facing St. Helena in the morning. The afternoon will feature two matches: Seychelles versus Malawi, and then Eswatini will compete against Ghana.
The group stage concludes on Sunday, March 29th, with Matchday 5. The first game of the day is Seychelles against Eswatini. In the afternoon, Ghana will play Tanzania, and the final match of the tournament will be between St. Helena and Malawi.
After five days of intense cricket, the teams will depart on Monday, March 30th.
