World Rugby has officially launched its Women in Rugby Careers Programme, marking another step forward in its ongoing work to create more opportunities for women across the sport.
The programme, which is now accepting applications, offers seven interactive online sessions between April and November 2026.
These webinars will focus on practical career skills and personal development, helping women who work or volunteer in rugby to build their confidence and grow their professional networks.
Up to 250 places are available through an open application process. The aim is to bring together women from all corners of the rugby world, ensuring a wide range of countries and roles are represented.
This new phase builds on the success of a pilot programme run in 2025 as part of the Impact Beyond 2025 legacy initiative. That pilot supported more than 100 women from 56 countries, helping them gain new skills and progress in their rugby careers.
The expanded programme will continue to offer targeted career support, skills training, and networking opportunities. It is designed for women who are already working or volunteering in rugby and have at least two to three years of experience, and who want to take the next step in their careers within the game.
Sally Horrox, World Rugby’s Chief of Women’s Rugby, welcomed the launch.
“Building on the successes of Impact Beyond 2025, it is fantastic to see the Women in Rugby Careers Programme evolving and reaching more women around the world who see rugby as a pathway for growth and opportunity,” she said.
“By equipping participants with confidence, skills and networks, the programme plays a vital role in strengthening pathways across the game and advancing our ambition to create equal opportunities for women and girls, both on and off the field.”
The webinars will be delivered in a supportive and inclusive online environment, with access to experts from across the sport and plenty of chances for participants to connect with one another.
Applications are now open. Women working or volunteering in rugby who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply.
