Renowned Ghanaian sports journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).
With years of experience in sports media and and spou administration, Ankrah is expected to bring fresh leadership to the NSA, overseeing the development and management of sports in Ghana.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is also seating president of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association.
His appointment marks a significant shift, as he transitions from journalism to a key government role in sports governance.
Ankrah’s career spans various roles in broadcasting and sports advocacy, making him a well-known figure in Ghana’s sporting landscape.
The National Sports Authority has faced significant criticism in recent years regarding the management of sports venues in Ghana.
