The Ghana Police Service Police Ladies Football Team recorded a well-deserved 1–0 victory over Army Ladies FC in the Democracy Cup, played on Friday, 7th August 2026, to lift the trophy in an exciting and competitive contest.
Their organisation at the back and patience in possession proved decisive against a resilient Army Ladies FC side that pushed them all the way.
The Director of Sports, Ghana Police Service, ASP Bernice Timbilla, was present at the venue to support and motivate the team throughout the encounter.
Her presence on the touchline proved the Service’s continued commitment to the growth and success of women’s football in Ghana, and served as a source of encouragement for the players as they pursued the title.
The occasion attracted a broad cross-section of dignitaries and stakeholders. Representatives from Parliament, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Diaspora Affairs Directorate were among those in attendance, alongside members of the media, officials of the organising committee, and football enthusiasts who turned out to witness an entertaining and hard-fought encounter.
The Democracy Cup continues to serve as a platform for showcasing the depth of talent within Ghana’s institutional and security services football setup, while promoting unity, sportsmanship, and the growth of the women’s game.
With this victory, the Police Ladies Football Team add another accolade to their growing list of achievements.
