The Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) is set to roll out its Regional Taekwondo Awareness Campaign, a nationwide talent identification initiative designed to bring the sport closer to underserved communities and discover the next generation of Taekwondo champions.
The campaign kicks off on 25th September 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi, marking the beginning of a broader regional tour that will extend to five historically under-resourced regions, The Northern Region, Upper West Region, Bono Region, Central Region, and Ashanti Region.
Under the theme “Talent is Everywhere,” the initiative reflects GTF’s commitment to expanding access to the sport beyond its traditional urban strongholds.
By taking the campaign directly to these regions, the Federation aims to identify young people with the physical potential, discipline, and drive to become future Taekwondo athletes, talents who may otherwise never have had the opportunity to discover the sport.
“Promoting Taekwondo, Inspiring Champions.” This spirit stands at the heart of the campaign, capturing GTF’s vision of building a pipeline of athletes rooted in grassroots communities across the country.
The Federation believes that with the right exposure and support, hidden talent in these regions can be developed into world-class competitors representing Ghana on regional and global stages.
Members of the public, young athletes, parents, and community stakeholders in Kumasi and beyond are warmly invited to attend the launch event and be part of this movement to grow Taekwondo across Ghana.
