In a significant development ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot) has announced the dismissal of national team head coach Marc Brys.

The decision, confirmed this Monday, comes just three weeks before the commencement of the AFCON.

The Federation simultaneously released the official squad list for the competition, which notably excludes key figures such as goalkeeper André Onana and captain Vincent Aboubakar.

The newly appointed manager, David Pagou, will oversee the Indomitable Lions’ campaign. The departure of Coach Brys follows the team’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs last November and is understood to be the result of a period of reported tensions with Fécafoot President Samuel Eto’o.

The Federation will now look to Coach Pagou to steer the team through the imminent challenges of the Africa Cup of Nations.
