Julius Ben Emunah has resigned as Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, bringing an end to a seven-month tenure at the helm of the Intercontinental Club Masters.
The announcement was made in a farewell message posted to Facebook, in which Emunah described his decision as a difficult one to reach.
This has not been an easy decision to make. Serving the club has been a great honour and a deeply rewarding experience.”
In his statement, Emunah extended his gratitude to the club’s Board, led by HRH Togbe Afede XIV, for the trust and opportunity given him during his time in office. He also singled out the National Chapters Committee (NCC), led by Alhaji Yusif Abdulai, for what he called their extraordinary support and brotherly love throughout his tenure.
Despite relinquishing the top administrative post, Emunah was careful to draw a distinction between stepping down from the role and stepping away from the club altogether.
He described himself as remaining a proud and committed supporter of Hearts of Oak, and pledged to remain available to serve, assist or support the club in whatever capacity he can going forward.
Before joining Hearts of Oak, Emunah built close to a decade of experience within Ghana football administration. He served as Head of Competitions at the Ghana Football Association from January 2023, having earlier held positions as the GFA’s National Safety and Security Officer, Club Licensing Manager, and Regional Administrator for the Western Regional Football Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of Cape Coast and a Global Master’s degree in Sports Management and Legal Skills from ISDE Law Business School in Barcelona, delivered in partnership with FC Barcelona.
His exit adds to a period of turnover in the club’s administrative leadership, with the Managing Director’s office having changed hands twice within the space of little over a year. Details of the circumstances surrounding his departure, and the process by which the club will identify a successor, have not yet been addressed in an official statement from Hearts of Oak.
