In a moment of national pride and unity, His Excellency President Bassirou Diomaye Faye hosted the Senegal national football team, the Teranga Lions at the Presidential Palace.
The ceremony served as an official send off for the squad as they prepare to travel to Morocco for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
During the event, President Faye presented the team with the national flag, a symbolic gesture meant to inspire the players as they carry the hopes of the country on their AFCON campaign.

Senegal, crowned African champions in 2021, will enter the tournament as one of the top contenders. The flag presentation represent the nation’s support for the team’s quest to reclaim the continent’s most prestigious football title.
The Teranga Lion’s of Senegal are expected to depart for Morocco in the coming days, where they will finalize their preparations before the tournament kicks off.
