Morocco has marked AFCON 2025 with the release of new, limited edition currency. In honor of hosting the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Kingdom has unveiled a commemorative 100-dirham banknote and a 250-dirham silver coin.

This special release celebrates more than just football. It is a tribute to national pride, and the country’s progress. The designs were created entirely by Moroccan specialists, showcasing local talent in security printing and minting.
The 100-dirham note features a portrait of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. It is richly decorated with symbols of African heritage, including the tournament’s logo and elements representing the continent’s diverse cultures. The back of the note highlights modern Moroccan infrastructure, and facilities of the tournament.

The matching 250-dirham silver coin carries similar themes of sport and national identity.
