Asante Kotoko head coach, Karim Zito, has publicly addressed the growing speculation about his position at the club, stating he remains focused on his duties until officially informed otherwise by the club’s management.

His comments come after a string of recent unfavourable results, which the coach admitted have “made the situation more difficult.” Reports and rumours on social media have suggested that the club’s management is considering a change in leadership.

“I can’t speak about tomorrow because, as you’ve mentioned, there are reports that management wants me out,” Zito said in response to questions about his future. “These recent results have made the situation more difficult, so if that is truly their intention, then the opportunity has presented itself now.”

However, the experienced coach emphasized that he has received no direct communication from the club’s hierarchy about any decision to remove him or appoint a new coach.

“Throughout my coaching career, I have never been sacked, and I have neither seen nor heard anything from management suggesting they intend to appoint a new coach,” Zito stated.

He made it clear that, for now, he is choosing to focus on his work and disregard the external noise. “Until the people who brought me here officially ask me to leave, I am not concerned about what is being said or reported on social media,” he affirmed.

The statement presents a firm but calm response from the coach, placing the onus on the club’s official channels while acknowledging the pressure that comes with the team’s current form.
