Medeama SC will travel to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena this Sunday with a difficult record hanging over them.

The Mauve and Yellows have never won an away league game against FC Samartex.

Ahead of the match, Medeama head coach Tanko Ibrahim is keeping a calm head. He knows the season has its ups and downs but believes hard work will solve their problems.

“From the very beginning, we knew the Ghana Premier League would be tough,” Ibrahim said. “There’s no need to press the panic button. We just have to keep training hard and stay focused.”

Standing in their way is a Samartex side that has made their home ground a fortress. The Timber Giants now hold the longest home unbeaten run in the league.

It has been 20 matches since they last lost at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

During that strong run, Samartex have recorded 13 wins and 7 draws. They will be looking to extend that impressive streak when they welcome Medeama on Sunday.

For Medeama, they must try to make history by securing their first ever away win against their rivals if they want to win the league.

They lead Hearts of Oak by five points. Hearts will take on Berekum Chelsea at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Samuel Boadu’s side are yet to record a win against Hearts in seven attempts.
