Ghanaian football icon Asamoah Gyan has initiated high-level discussions with Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr. as part of a strategic effort to ensure comprehensive support for Ghanaian supporters traveling to the United States for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The meeting, held under the auspices of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation, saw the former Black Stars captain present Mayor Small with one of his iconic No. 3 jerseys.

Gyan was accompanied by his manager, Samuel Anim Addo, who also serves as CEO of AGF/Goldstar Consult Ltd, and Anita Barakat, CEO of Rediscover Africa.

Discussions were centered on providing Ghanaian fans with support structures during the tournament, including accommodations, logistics, security, and general welfare. In addition to fan support, both parties explored broader avenues for collaboration in sports tourism, cultural exchange, and business partnerships, with the aim of strengthening ties between Ghana, Africa, and the United States.

The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by Gyan and his foundation to elevate the World Cup experience for Ghanaian supporters while fostering international collaboration that extends beyond football. Ghana has been drawn in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.

As part of these preparatory efforts, Goldstar Consult Ltd and Rediscover Africa with backing from the Asamoah Gyan Foundation conducted a visit to Atlantic City to advance plans regarding accommodation, transport, security, and tourism.

The delegation, led by Samuel Anim Addo and Anita Barakat, met with Mayor Marty Small Sr., who welcomed the initiative and underscored Atlantic City’s strategic position as a key link between Ghana’s match venues in Philadelphia and Boston.

In a related development, the new Ghana Black Stars jersey was recently unveiled by Puma in New York City. The event was attended by several prominent figures, including former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, award-winning musician Black Sherif, and media personality Fanum.
