The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to hold a testimonial ceremony in honor of legendary Asamoah Gyan, former captain of the Black Stars for his immense contribution to both Ghanaian and international football.

The Football Association in talks with Gyan , will provide further information on when the event will be held. The testimonial will serve as a fitting homage to a player whose name has been imprinted in the world of football:locally and internationally.

“Baby Jet” as popularly known holds the enviable record as Ghana’s all time top scorer with 17 goals and 109 appearances for the Black Stars. Some of his achievements were scoring six goals across three tournaments:Germany 2026, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.

Asamoah Gyan , alumni of Accra Academy Senior High School in Ghana began his professional journey with Liberty Professionals in Ghana before moving abroad to join Udinese , later had loan stints at Modena , before Rennes in France and Sunderland.

Gyan also became a household name in Asia and Middle East making appearances for Al Ain and Al Ahli in the UAE , later played for Shanghai SIPG in China , Kayserispor in Turkey and ended his professional career at Legon Cities FC in Ghana.

Through his stunning performances , charisma and leadership, Asamoah Gyan brought unity and love to the Ghanaian camp and not forgetting his dance skills after scoring which caused an internet frenzy along side his “Gyama” skills .   His love for music also came to live which saw him releasing a couple of music featuring top Ghanaian artists .

The upcoming testimonial promises to be a memorable occasion to honor his legendary achievements.
