11/11/25: Hearts of Oak Celebrate 114 Years of Glory and Tradition
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, one of Africa’s oldest and most successful football clubs, marks its 114th anniversary today, November 11, 2025.
Formed on November 11, 1911, the “Phobians” have stood the test of time, carving a proud legacy in Ghanaian and African football. From humble beginnings on the streets of Accra, Hearts of Oak have grown into a symbol of passion, unity, and excellence in the beautiful game.
Over more than a century of existence, the club has amassed an impressive 36 major trophies, making them one of the most decorated teams in Ghana’s football history winning the Ghana Premier League title 21 times, 12 FA Cups, 1 CAF Champions League, 1 CAF Confederation Cup, and 1 CAF Super Cup.
The club’s golden era in the early 2000s remains unforgettable, a period when the “Rainbow Club” conquered the continent under the legendary Charles Taylor, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, and the late Charles Allotey.
