Mohammed Salisu has taken a big step in his recovery from injury by returning to on-pitch training with AS Monaco after several months out. The Ghanaian defender suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in January, but he has now been seen training with the ball on the pitch at Monaco’s training ground a strong sign that his recovery is going well.
The French Ligue 1 club confirmed that the 27-year-old has begun taking part in individual pitch sessions, moving his rehabilitation from the confines of the gym to the open training ground. While no official return date has been disclosed by the club’s medical staff, this shows a positive and expected step forward in Salisu’s carefully planned recovery process since the injury was diagnosed.

Mohammed Salisu’s absence this season was felt not only by AS Monaco but also by the Black Stars. The team missed his experience and strong defending, forcing the coaches to make changes at the back.
Before his injury, Salisu played 18 matches in all competitions for Monaco and scored one goal. His performances showed how important he was to the team’s defence, making his absence even more noticeable as the season went on.

ACL injuries are among the most serious that any professional footballer can suffer, typically requiring a rehabilitation period of between nine and twelve months before a player is cleared to return to competitive action.
