Prudential Life Insurance Ghana is set to officially launch the 7th edition of PRURide on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the VIP Room of the University of Ghana Stadium, marking the beginning of another exciting chapter for one of Ghana’s biggest cycling and wellness initiatives.

Held under the theme “Pedal for Health. Ride for a Greener Future,” this year’s campaign seeks to promote healthier lifestyles, encourage environmental sustainability, and strengthen the development of cycling across the country.

Over the years, PRURide has evolved into a flagship cycling event that brings together professional cyclists, recreational riders, families, corporate organisations, and fitness enthusiasts, inspiring thousands of Ghanaians to embrace cycling as a healthier and more sustainable way of life.

The official launch is expected to attract key stakeholders from the sporting community, government institutions, corporate Ghana, cycling clubs, development partners, health advocates, and the media. Organisers will also unveil the full calendar of activities leading up to the main PRURide event scheduled for September.

Speaking ahead of the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, Jane Dornukuor Mingle, described PRURide as a movement that extends beyond sport.

PRURide goes beyond being a cycling event. Every pedal stroke on this journey is a small act with a big ripple effect, fitter bodies, cleaner air, and stronger communities. We are proud to bring this movement into its seventh edition, and even prouder of how far it has grown from a single ride into a genuine call to action for Ghana,” she said.

According to Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, the initiative continues to promote healthier communities by encouraging physical activity, reducing carbon emissions through sustainable transportation, and creating opportunities for young people through cycling and sports development. The programme also aligns with the company’s long-term sustainability agenda aimed at protecting the environment while improving public health.

President of the Ghana Cycling Federation, Mohammed Baadae Sahnoon Esq, praised the longstanding partnership with Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, describing it as a major contributor to the growth of cycling in the country.

He noted that the collaboration has helped expand PRURide into a nationally recognised event while supporting efforts to promote community engagement and healthy living.

He also expressed optimism that the partnership would help elevate PRURide into a UCI Calendar-ranked event, enabling Ghanaian cyclists to earn international ranking points while positioning Ghana as a leading cycling destination in Africa.

The launch will also provide details on registration, sponsorship opportunities, community engagement activities, and other key highlights ahead of the September event.
