El-Eter Backs X1 Partnership to Elevate DOL Super Cup

Chairman of the Division One League (DOL) Super Cup Committee, Rabeh El-Eter, believes X1 Energy Drink’s decision to become the headline sponsor of the 2026 tournament will provide a major boost to the growth of Ghana’s domestic football.

The competition, scheduled to take place from August 10 to 18 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, is designed to prepare newly promoted Ghana Premier League clubs and other top-performing Division One sides for the upcoming season.

Now in its third edition, the eight-team tournament has established itself as an important pre-season competition, giving clubs the opportunity to build momentum while offering players a platform to showcase their abilities.

This year’s tournament will feature promoted clubs FC AshantiGold 04, Debibi United and Port City, all of whom will compete in the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history. They will be joined by Tamale City, Semper Fi FC, Ebusua Dwarfs, Attram De Visser and Nsuopun Fidelity.

Chairman Hails Corporate Support

El-Eter described X1 Energy Drink’s sponsorship as a strong endorsement of the progress being made in Ghanaian football and praised the company’s commitment to the development of the game.

We are delighted to welcome X1 Energy Drink as the headline sponsor of the DOL Super Cup. This partnership is a huge endorsement of the work being done to develop domestic football and create meaningful opportunities for clubs and players.”

He noted that private sector investment is essential to improving competitions at the developmental level and commended the Ghana Football Association for securing the landmark partnership.

The commitment shown by X1 Energy Drink goes beyond sponsorship. It is an investment in the future of Ghana football, particularly the clubs, players and communities that form the backbone of the Division One League,” El-Eter added.

He also stressed that the tournament remains an important avenue for identifying young talent while helping clubs prepare for the challenges of a new campaign.

With an expanded profile, quality participating clubs and renewed commercial backing, the 2026 DOL Super Cup is expected to further strengthen its status as one of the key events on Ghana’s domestic football calendar.
