Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC has confirmed the appointment of Nebojsa Kapor as the club’s new Head Coach, closing out a lengthy recruitment process the Board says was designed to restore the Phobians to domestic and continental prominence.
Kapor’s contract runs for two years, the club announced in a statement signed by Hearts of Oak Management on Saturday.
The Board described the appointment as the opening move of a broader rebuilding project, with further technical-team additions expected in the coming weeks as Hearts of Oak prepare for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Kapor arrives in Accra as a known in the Ghanaian top flight. A UEFA-licensed coach, he has previously managed Tema Youth FC and Bechem United FC, and, most recently, Tarkwa-based Medeama SC.

Kapor’s most recent post before this appointment was at Medeama SC, where he was appointed Head Coach in December 2023 on a one-year deal carrying a two-year renewal option. He succeeded Evans Augustine Adotey, who had led the Yellow and Mauves to their first Ghana Premier League title in 2022/23 and into their maiden CAF Champions League group-stage campaign before reverting to his post as the club’s Technical Director.
Taking his first game in charge against Karela United at the end of December 2023, Kapor spent a full season and part of another with the Tarkwa club, working with a Medeama squad built on the same disciplined, development-focused ethos the Hearts of Oak Board has now highlighted in its own statement.
His stint produced competitive, closely-fought football through the 2024/25 campaign, with the club regularly positioned among the Premier League’s top five.

Medeama’s statement announcing his exit credited Kapor with overseeing “significant progress and competitive performances” during his time in charge, even as the club ultimately opted not to extend his stay.
That spell, along with his earlier work with Tema Youth and Bechem United, forms the body of Ghana Premier League experience the Hearts of Oak Board says influenced its decision to bring him to Phobia House.
Kapor now takes charge of a Hearts of Oak side seeking to rebuild following the departure of previous head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
The Board’s statement framed his arrival as the beginning of a wider technical rebuild rather than a standalone hire, with more appointments to be confirmed as the club finalises its plans for the new season.
