Joseph Paintsil in celebratory mood after scoring for LA Galaxy

Joseph Paintsil Scores in LA Galaxy Draw Against San Jose Earthquakes

Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil was on target as LA Galaxy played out a 1-1 draw with San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer (MLS).

Paintsil handed the Galaxy an early lead in the 13th minute, latching onto a perfectly weighted through ball from German playmaker Marco Reus before calmly slotting past the onrushing San Jose goalkeeper.

The goal was his fourth of the MLS campaign and his sixth goal contribution of the season.

San Jose Earthquakes responded strongly after the break and found the equaliser in the 62nd minute through Reid Roberts.

The hosts continued to press for a winner and were handed a golden opportunity when they were awarded a penalty in stoppage time. However, former RB Leipzig and Chelsea forward Timo Werner failed to convert from the spot, ensuring the match ended level.

The result leaves San Jose Earthquakes third in the Western Conference standings with 33 points, while LA Galaxy remain outside the playoff places in 11th position with 21 points.
