Hamza Issah has completed his long-anticipated move from Accra Hearts of Oak to South African Premiership outfit Siwelele FC, with the club formally announcing his arrival alongside three other new signings ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Siwelele FC, formerly known as SuperSport United before relocating to Bloemfontein, confirmed on their official channels that Issah, defender Felix Noge, and Botswana internationals Goitseone Phoko and Neo Mokhachane had all joined the club. “Together, we build. Together, we compete. Together, we chase greatness,” the club said in its announcement, welcoming the quartet under the banner of its #HelaYalo campaign.
The transfer brings to a close a protracted saga that stretched back to late 2025. Issah’s representatives at Prosport International initiated proceedings to terminate his Hearts of Oak contract in December, citing unpaid wages covering September to November.
Hearts disputed the claims and moved to resolve matters directly with the player, while later lodging a complaint with FIFA accusing Siwelele of an unauthorised approach. Earlier reports in the media had also suggested the move had collapsed over delayed paperwork, but the club’s official unveiling and the player’s registration confirm the transfer has now been finalised.
Issah joined Hearts of Oak in August 2023 from Ghana Division One League side New Edubiase United and established himself as a regular fixture in the Phobians’ attack, contributing goals across two seasons in the Ghana Premier League. He now becomes the latest in a growing list of Ghanaian players to test themselves in South Africa’s top flight.
Siwelele FC, who finished 10th in the Betway Premiership last season, have been active in the transfer market this off-season after a significant squad turnover. Issah joins a fresh-look squad as the Bloemfontein club looks to push up the table in 2026/27.
