Ghana’s Black Spiders produced a commanding display to defeat neighbours Togo in straight sets, winning the final of the CAVB Zone III Women’s Championship and confirming their place at the 2026 CAVB Women’s African Nations Cup in Kenya this August.

Ghana lost only one set across the entire tournament, and against Togo in the final they left no room for argument. The Black Spiders took the first set 25–18, before tightening their grip on proceedings with a 25–13 second-set win.

By the third set, Togo’s tried to stage a comeback but Ghana closed out the match 25–09 to complete a statement 3–0 victory.

The result crowns an unbeaten campaign for Ghana in the sub-regional championship and stands as one of the country’s most emphatic outings in with the team dropping only a handful of points across the final’s three sets combined.

Qualification for the CAVB Women’s African Nations Cup places Ghana among the continent’s leading women’s volleyball nations heading into the August tournament in Kenya, where the Black Spikers will look to build on the momentum generated by this Zone III triumph.
