Ghana’s national women’s table tennis team, the Black Loopers, now know their path at the upcoming ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals. The official draw ceremony was held at London’s iconic Shard building.
The Black Loopers are placed into a group with Puerto Rico, Austria, and Angola for the first stage of the competition. The championships, set for London in 2026, will mark a special milestone;100 years since the first World Table Tennis Championship were held in the same city.
The draw event was attended by top table tennis officials, including ITTF President Petra Sörling and World Table Tennis CEO Steve Dainton. They helped set the stage for what promises to be a global celebration of the sport.
The tournament will be played across two London venues: the OVO Arena Wembley and the Copper Box Arena. It will run from April 28 to May 10, 2026. The top eight seeded teams in each category will begin play in Stage 1a at Wembley on May 2-3. All teams will then progress to Stage 2, where their group results will decide their seeding for the final knockout rounds.

For the Black Loopers, this presents a major opportunity to test their skills against international teams and aim to create a memorable performance on the world stage.
The 2026 championship are poised to be a fitting tribute to a century of world-class table tennis, with nations from across the globe competing for the ultimate team title.
