The Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF) has held a media briefing to provide key updates on the upcoming 10th Edition of the Tour du Ghana, which is scheduled to take place from November 13 to 24, 2025.

The media briefing brought together officials from the Ghana Cycling Federation, Journalists, Sponsors to discuss preparations, sponsorships, logistics, accreditation processes for the Tour Du Ghana.

General Secretary of the Ghana Cycling Federation, Mr. Shaaban Mohammed, announced that this year’s edition will feature a four-day competitive route as part of the national tour:

He emphasized that the Tour du Ghana will not only serve as a national race but also as a tourism initiative to showcase Ghana’s diverse culture under the theme, “Pedaling to Explore Ghana.”

The Federation reaffirmed its vision to position Ghana as a leading cycling destination in West Africa, inspired by the success of Rwanda’s cycling tourism model.

Among the key achievements highlighted were:

Recognition of cycling as one of Ghana’s fastest-growing sports.

Increased international visibility through major cycling events.

Strengthened partnerships, promoting sports and tourism integration.

The media briefing also underscored the importance of sponsorship in sustaining  cycling events and called on corporate Ghana to support the Tour du Ghana. He revealed that 12 countries have confirmed participation in this year’s edition and urged media partners to help generate nationwide awareness and attract potential sponsors through storytelling in their reportage.

The General Secretary also disclosed that plans are well underway for accommodation, feeding, and transportation. He also revealed that $1,000 has been allocated to facilitate the travelling expenses of international journalist to Ghana for media training ahead of the Tour du Ghana.

Shaaban Mohammed expressed appreciation to the organization team and media partners for their continuous collaboration.

He proposed the creation of a WhatsApp platform to strengthen communication between the Federation and the media.

During the briefing, media personnel were assured that all accredited media houses would be duly notified in due course.

However he added that some media partners have already been considered, with official details to be announced soon.

He later thanked the media, the Government and the Black star experience, stakeholders for their unwavering support, reaffirming the Federation’s commitment to developing cycling as both a competitive sport and a tool for tourism promotion. He called for sustained publicity and collaboration toward ensuring a successful 10th Edition of the Tour du Ghana.

DOT Ateliers, Stanbic Bank, MTN, Prudential Life Insurance, Twellium Verna water, Asa Plus Destination, Akwamu Kotoi state, THB, DHL Global Forwarding, and Ghana Olympic Committee are the Sponsors of the 10th edition of the Tour du Ghana.

Other companies who have shown interest and are ready to come on board are Toyota Ghana, Goil, Japan Motors, TotalEnergies, Strategic Africa Security  etc.

Day 6 (18 Nov): Stage 3 — Aflao → Ho (Overnight in Ho)

Day 7 (19 Nov): Stage 4 — Ho → Hohoe (Overnight in Hohoe)
