“Joining Kotoko Is a Big Opportunity for My Career” – Dogo Yakubu Speaks After Porcupines Move

New Asante Kotoko signing Dogo Yakubu has described his move to the club as a major step in his young career, pledging hard work, patience and goals as he begins a new chapter with the Porcupine Warriors.

The 21-year-old striker has completed a switch from Midcity Football Academy, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract after successfully passing his medical.

While Kotoko see him as a long-term investment, Yakubu is clear about what the opportunity means to him personally.

“I’m still young, and I believe I have a huge chance here to make a name for myself,” Yakubu told Asante Kotoko Media. “Joining Kotoko is a big opportunity for my career, and I’m really grateful for the trust the club has shown in me.”

The forward acknowledged the stature and expectations that come with playing for one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs, but insists he is ready to embrace the challenge rather than be intimidated by it.

“I know what Kotoko represents and what the fans expect,” he said. “This is a club with history and pressure, but that’s what pushes a player to be better. I’m ready to work hard every day, learn from the coaches and senior players, and take my chances when they come.”

Yakubu also outlined his personal ambitions, stressing that improvement and contribution to the team’s success are his main priorities.

“My focus is to keep improving, scoring goals and helping the team succeed,” he added. “Nothing will come easy, but I’m prepared to be patient, stay disciplined and give my best whenever I’m called upon.”

Known for his pace, movement and eye for goal, Yakubu arrives at Kumasi with the hunger of a young striker eager to prove himself on a bigger stage. For him, the move to Kotoko is not just a transfer, but a platform to grow, learn and turn promise into impact in the famous red shirt.
