The Ghana Water Volleyball Association is set to host the second edition of the Easter Norvikporgbe Za (Meeting of Families Festival) Water Sports event in Kedzi in the Keta Municipality.

The festival, which is gradually becoming a key community and sporting event in the Volta Region, will bring together athletes, families, and visitors for a weekend of water-based activities and cultural celebration.

This year’s edition will feature two main sporting events. Water Volleyball and Handball competitions which will take place on Friday, April 3, while the Regatta Relay is scheduled for Sunday, April 5.

The activities are expected to attract participants from different parts of the country, as well as local residents.

The National Recreation and Wellness Program (NRWP) has confirmed its participation in the festival.

A delegation led by Hon. Betty Krobei Mensah is expected to be in Kedzi to support and take part in the activities.

Their involvement highlights the importance of promoting active lifestyles and community engagement through sport.

The National Sports Authority has also thrown its support behind the event. Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has assured the organizers of the Authority’s commitment, which is expected to boost the organization and visibility of the festival.

The Event is not only about competition but also about bringing families together, promoting tourism, and encouraging the development of water sports in Ghana.

With growing support from national institutions and local stakeholders, the Easter Norvikporgbe Za Water Sports Festival is steadily gaining recognition on the national sports calendar.
