Forget the trophies on offer elsewhere at the 2026 All Star Festival, for PRESEC-Legon and Accra Academy, this one is never really about silverware. It’s about bragging rights. It’s about who gets to talk, and who has to listen, until the next time these two schools meet.

The BAC Group organizers of the All Star Festival have confirmed that the old rivals will headline the ASF26 curtain-raiser, and both camps are already making it clear they intend to walk away with the bragging rights.

The fixture will be played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and will officially launch the two-day event, held under the theme “The ASF26 Experience.” This year’s festival runs from Friday, July 10 to Saturday, July 11, 2026, with daily programming from 10:00am to 10:00pm, as organisers expand the event beyond football into a broader business and family-oriented experience.

Speaking ahead of the contest, players of Accra Academy emphasized that the team has completed its preparations and is fully focused on delivering a strong performance.

Our preparations have gone exactly as planned. The team is fully prepared, 100% fit and highly motivated. We have worked hard, and now we are ready to show what we are capable of,” the team stated.

Despite acknowledging the quality of their opponents, Accra Academy insisted that it approaches the game with confidence and a winning mentality.

Confidence is running high in Accra Academy, with the team making it clear that they have no fear of their long-time rivals. Describing the fixture as another opportunity to prove their superiority, the squad insisted that while PRESEC remain one of their biggest rivals in Accra, they do not believe their opponents possess the quality to match them on the pitch.

They also sent a bold warning ahead of the encounter, declaring that they are fully prepared and determined to secure victory. The team expressed unwavering belief in their ability, stating that they are ready for the challenge and confident they will emerge victorious when the two schools meet, adding another chapter to one of Accra’s fiercest school football rivalries.

The BAC group have used this year’s edition to broaden the festival’s scope significantly. Beyond the football, ASF26 will introduce a Family Day concept featuring a dedicated Kids’ Play Zone, alongside a business convocation and a commercial village bringing together vendors, entrepreneurs, creatives and sports stakeholders. More than 10,000 fans, exhibitors and business visitors are expected across the two days.
