His contribution of GH¢10,000 was made towards athlete welfare and match-day operations, providing direct support to a championship that has brought together roughly 150 para-athletes drawn from five regions across Ghana.
The tournament offers a competitive platform for the athletes while advancing the broader goal of greater inclusion and participation in sport nationwide.

While at the venue, Ayew spent time interacting with the competing athletes, commending their determination and encouraging them to remain focused on their ambitions.
He urged them to continue pushing for greater opportunities through sport, a message consistent with the grassroots engagement that has increasingly defined his activities away from professional football.
The Ho gesture forms part of a pattern of community involvement that Ayew has maintained over the years. He has kept close ties with grassroots communities and young people across the country, engagements that have included spending time with and playing community football alongside youngsters in Tema New Town, as well as similar visits to Aboabo in Kumasi.

In each instance, Ayew has used the opportunity to interact directly with young footballers, share his experiences and encourage them to believe in their own potential.
His visit to the Volta Region extended that tradition of grassroots connection, though this time the engagement reached beyond football entirely. By lending his support to wheelchair basketball, Ayew drew attention to a group of athletes who often compete with considerably less visibility and fewer resources than their able-bodied counterparts, while underlining the importance of ensuring Ghana’s sporting spaces remain accessible to all.

For a player who has spent much of his career representing Ghana on the international stage, such community engagements offer a different avenue for staying connected to the public and contributing to the development of sport at the grassroots level.
The GH¢10,000 intervention in Ho stands as a further practical demonstration of that commitment, with Ayew continuing to use his platform to promote participation, inclusion and opportunity across Ghana’s sporting landscape.
