The Federation, which serves as the supervisory institution for Deaf sport in Ghana, was represented by its Secretary-General, Mr. Kumah Bernard Selly Kosi, at the Final Stakeholder Consultative Engagement and Formal Endorsement of the Nationwide Constituency Games and its Implementation Framework, held in Accra.

The gathering brought together signatory federations and stakeholders under the NSA’s supervision to formally endorse the framework guiding the Constituency Games, a nationwide sporting initiative intended to broaden grassroots participation across Ghana’s constituencies.
Speaking on behalf of the GDSF, Mr. Kosi indicated that the Federation stands ready to collaborate with the NSA and other relevant institutions to identify sporting disciplines suited to Deaf athletes and to work out the modalities for their inclusion in the Games.
He described the engagement as a welcome opportunity for the Federation to press the case for representation within the national framework.
The GDSF, having formally endorsed the Implementation Framework alongside other constituency signatories, expressed optimism that its participation in the consultative process would translate into concrete recognition and inclusion for Deaf athletes when the Games are rolled out.

The Constituency Games initiative is expected to draw participation from federations across a wide range of sporting disciplines, with the NSA coordinating implementation at the constituency level nationwide.
The GDSF’s involvement affirms a growing emphasis on ensuring the framework accommodates athletes with disabilities as planning progresses.
The Federation said it remains optimistic about securing formal recognition and inclusion for Deaf athletes as discussions with the NSA and other stakeholders continue.
