Tyson Fury has called Anthony Joshua “a classless loser” in an online outburst. This comes just before Joshua’s fight against YouTuber Jake Paul this Friday.
Fury has suggested he will return to boxing next year for a long-awaited fight against Joshua. The 37-year-old Fury strongly criticised his British rival, who is stepping into the ring with Paul in Miami.
This will be Joshua’s first fight since he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
Speaking about Joshua’s match with Paul, Fury said, “He’s a 37-year-old at the end of his career fighting a YouTuber, a guy from Disney Channel who my brother Tommy already beat.”
Fury then issued a direct threat to Joshua: “If I ever come across you, I’m knocking you out. I’m not a YouTuber or a man half your size. I am the real challenge. You are a classless loser coming off a knockout loss to a local fighter. You big useless bum. I can’t wait if Jake Paul knocks you out.”
Jake Paul’s professional record is 12 wins and 1 loss. Joshua’s record is 24 wins and 4 losses. Paul’s only loss was to Fury’s brother, Tommy. Since Joshua’s last fight, Paul has fought and won twice, including a match against the 58-year-old Mike Tyson.
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, confirmed talks are happening for a Fury vs. Joshua fight. He said if the “right deal” is offered, the fight will happen, likely in the late summer of 2026.
“There’s been some talks going on,” Tyson has indicated if it’s the right deal, he’ll definitely do it. I think it’s going in the right direction and I do believe it will happen.”
A fight between Joshua and Fury, two of the world’s top heavyweights, has been talked about for many years, with both fighters often exchanging words and keeping rumours alive.
