Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated that his team’s hard work and commitment are yielding results, as the club secured their position at the top of the Premier League heading into the new year.

The Gunners delivered a powerful statement on Tuesday night, defeating a strong Aston Villa side 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium. A dominant second half performance ensured Arsenal will begin 2026 as league leaders, strengthening their bid to win a first title in 22 years.

When asked if the victory boosts the squad’s belief, Arteta pointed to the collective effort behind their success.

“It’s belief, and it’s energy as well,” Arteta said. “The players give so much. We play every few days, the schedule is very demanding, and we’ve had tough matches and injuries. But they keep winning, and winning makes everything easier.”

He emphasized that the team’s sacrifices are now being rewarded. “All the commitment you show gets reflected in good results and performances. That is very satisfying, but we know there is still a very long way to go.”

Arteta acknowledged the positive end to the year but immediately shifted focus to the continuing challenge. “It’s a great way to finish the year. We will enjoy a good night with our families, but the next day we are back to work. We must go to Bournemouth, and we know how difficult that will be.”
