Chelsea Confirm Departure of Head Coach Enzo Maresca
Chelsea Football Club have officially announced the departure of head coach Enzo Maresca, bringing an end to his time at Stamford Bridge following a period marked by notable silverware but mixed domestic fortunes.
Maresca leaves having guided the Blues to success on the international stage, winning both the UEFA Conference League and the maiden edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Those triumphs secured his place in the club’s recent history, with Chelsea acknowledging the Italian’s contribution and impact during his spell in charge.
There were reported tensions between the manager and top hierarchy at the club which grew worse and has been cited as the reason for the termination of terms by mutual consent.
In a statement, the club explained the decision was made with the remainder of the season firmly in mind.
“With key objectives still to play for across four competitions, including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track,” the statement read.
Maresca was in charge a Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge by Bournemouth on Tuesday. This game happened to be his last involvement at the club since taking charge in July 2024.
Chelsea expressed their gratitude to Maresca and wished him well in his future endeavours. Attention now turns to the club’s next appointment, as the Blues look to revive their campaign and push strongly toward their season objectives.
