The Ghana Bowls Federation has taken a significant step in its mission to grow the sport across the nation. In a move to prepare more athletes for major events like the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the federation has officially introduced bowls to the Ghana Police Service.

A special introduction and inauguration ceremony was held at the Ghana Police Headquarters in Accra. The event featured a practical session where officers learned about the sport firsthand. The President of the Ghana Bowls Federation, Charles Amofa, led the demonstration alongside para-athletes from the federation.

Police officers, including serving athletes and coaches, joined in the activity. The bowls exhibition was part of a larger sports event that involved several national sports federations.

This program marks the first official introduction of the sport of bowls to the Ghana Police Service. The federation described the occasion as an important moment in its plan to develop the sport at all levels across Ghana.

With this new partnership, the Police Service becomes the fourth security institution to take up bowls. The Ghana Bowls Federation has previously worked with the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Prisons Service, and the Ghana Armed Forces.

The federation’s ongoing effort aims to find and train new talent, creating a strong pool of athletes ready to represent Ghana on the international stage.
