The Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF) has announced the end of its collaboration with the head coach of the national team, Brama Traoré, and his entire technical staff.

This decision comes after a detailed review of the national team’s performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco. The Federation stated that the results fell far short of the objectives set for the team in the major continental tournament. This underperformance caused disappointment among supporters, football stakeholders, and the federation’s leadership.

Prior to the tournament, the clear goal for the Étalons was to reach at least the semi-finals. This target was based on the team’s positive trajectory and strong performances in recent editions of the competition.

In its official statement, the FBF expressed gratitude to Brama Traoré and his assistants Issa Balboné, Pierre Bazié, Mohamed Kaboré, and Wilfried Da for their dedication and service to national football since their appointment in 2024. The Federation wished them full success in their future careers.

The FBF has assured supporters and partners that steps will be taken immediately to begin the process of selecting a new technical team to lead the national team.
