Breaking: Maignan Extends AC Milan Contract
AC Milan have secured the long-term future of goalkeeper, Mike Maignan after the French international signed a new contract extension with the club.
The 30-year-old has agreed to a four-year deal with an option for an additional year, keeping him at the San Siro until 2031.
Maignan had been the subject of strong interest from overseas clubs, with Chelsea reportedly pushing hard for his signature during the summer transfer window.
The Blues were believed to be edging closer to a deal, but negotiations eventually collapsed after they failed to meet AC Milan’s valuation for the goalkeeper, who had just one year remaining on his contract at the time.
Initially reluctant to commit his future amid the transfer interest, Maignan has now pledged his long-term commitment to the Rossoneri, ending speculation surrounding his future.
The French number one joined AC Milan in 2021 from Ligue 1 side Lille and has since established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, playing a key role in Milan’s domestic and continental ambitions.
