Ghanaian Players Abroad Wrap Up: Goals, Assists and Solid Displays
Ghanaian footballers plying their trade abroad delivered a mixed but largely encouraging set of performances over the weekend, with goals, assists and commanding individual displays spread across Europe and beyond.
ENGLAND

In England, Antoine Semenyo continued to enjoy the trust of his manager as he started his sixth consecutive match for Manchester City, playing his part in a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Liverpool in the English Premier League. The forward’s consistency remains a key talking point as City maintain their push to catch Arsenal in the title race.

In the English Championship, Fatawu Issahaku once again underlined his importance to Leicester City despite their 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City. The winger played 77 minutes and scored Leicester’s only goal, taking his tally to an impressive 14 goal involvements for the season (seven goals and seven assists).

Jordan Ayew was also involved, coming on in the 77th minute to see out the closing stages of the game.
On the opposing side, Osman Ibrahim enjoyed a memorable afternoon for Birmingham City. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes and scored his first goal for the club, contributing to the 2-1 victory over Leicester. He also completed a successful dribble and maintained a perfect tackle success rate (1/1), underlining a strong all-round performance.
GREECE
In Greece, Abdul Baba Rahman put in a solid defensive shift for PAOK Thessaloniki, completing 90 minutes in a goalless draw with city rivals Aris. Baba won five of the six duels he contested and made a crucial clearance as PAOK kept a clean sheet.
DENMARK
Denmark saw Caleb Yirenkyi shine brightly for FC Nordsjaelland. The midfielder played the entire match, scoring and providing an assist in a 2-1 win over Sonderjyske in the Danish Super Liga, marking one of the standout Ghanaian performances of the weekend.
BELGIUM
Jerry Afriyie continued his fine scoring form for RAAL La Louviere. He started and played 77 minutes against Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, scoring his fourth league goal of the season, although his side eventually fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat.
Lawrence Agyekum played 61 minutes for Cercle Brugge in a dramatic 4-3 away win over Charleroi, contributing defensively with interceptions and a clearance.
SPAIN
Spain also provided positives as Inaki Williams returned to the Athletic Club Bilbao starting lineup after injury. The forward played 90 minutes and delivered two assists in a thrilling 4-2 win over Levante, registering his first and second assists of the La Liga season.
TURKEY
In Turkey, Jerome Opoku was ever-present at the back for Istanbul Basaksehir, helping them secure a 2-1 win over Eyupspor.
Opoku made three interceptions and three clearances in a composed defensive display.
Elsewhere in Turkey, Felix Afena-Gyan came on for the final 10 minutes for Amedspor and helped his side record a 2-0 win over Pendikspor in the second division.
GERMANY
Germany witnessed Ransford Konigsdoffer finding the net for Hamburg SV in a 2-0 victory over Heidenheim.
The goal was his second of the Bundesliga season.
Derrick Kohn also completed 90 minutes for Union Berlin in their 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, contributing four clearances and one interception.
FRANCE
In France, Alidu Seiduplayed 62 minutes for Rennes in a 3-1 away defeat to Lens, while Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu both featured for 90 minutes as Auxerre played out a goalless draw with Paris FC. Mensah completed the match at left-back, while Owusu anchored the midfield.
Elsewhere in Scotland, Nurudeen Abdulai played the full match for Dunfermline Athletic as they secured a 2-0 win over Kelty Hearts to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.
In Austria, Edmund Baidoo completed 90 minutes for Red Bull Salzburg in a 2-0 home loss to Austria Vienna, recording a 50 percent dribble success rate (2/4) and made 1 clearance.
SAUDI ARABIA
In Saudi Arabia, Christopher Bonsu Baah impressed for Al Qadsiah in a 1-1 draw against Al Fateh, completing four of five dribbles and winning two of three tackles.
IRELAND
Between the posts, Joseph Anang was the hero for St. Patrick’s Athletic, making four crucial saves in a goalless draw against Bohemians in the Irish Premier Division.
SWITZERLAND
Lawrence Ati Zigi also retained his place in goal for St. Gallen, making two saves in a 1-1 draw with Lausanne Sport in the Swiss Super League.
